@kaede_waifu This is so wonderfully wholesome! I approve.
What fabrics are you using for your doll's clothing? Are they TPE dolls?
@DoubleD Thank you, thy're both TPE, My newest and oldest doll together, Kaede is in a soft white fleece hoodie and my newest, Rei, is in some cute light yelllow pyjamas I boguht from wish a few years ago.
@kaede_waifu Any idea what the materials of the clothing are? Cotton? A blend of nylon and polyester? If you got them from wish.com they're probably a blend, but I'd like to know if you can check the tags. I'm working on getting clothing for my doll, and I don't want to risk bleeding.
@DoubleD Absolutely, staining is a bit of a worry, so, Rei has a white bodysuit underneath, this prevents staining unless you're planning on a wet t shirt competition. Both are a mix of nylon and polyester.
@kaede_waifu You wouldn't happen to have the link to that bodysuit, would you? AliExress has so many things. If there's a possibility that I can narrow down the hundreds of options to just the product that you know works, I'd appreciate it. If you had a referral code, I'd use it. lol
@DoubleD I have a new one that's being delivered shortly, I'll let you know how that works, but so far a white double zipped catsuit works wanders. I've had that in various sizes on all of my dolls.
@kaede_waifu Great; thank you.
@kaede_waifu Cool. Good luck!
@kaede_waifu Sweet. Maybe the issue is certain dyes that bleed, but not all polyester or nylon as such.
@DoubleD I think that's the main part of it, yeah, I've found that clothes that have been through a few wash cycles tend to be safer also. I was hoping that it'd be a bit tighter a fit on Rei but It certainly works for adding another layer on top with out some weird bump issues I was getting with the catsuits.
@kaede_waifu I've spoken to someone who works with garments professionally, and they said something to that effect: multiple wash cycles can help set the dyes so they're less likely to bleed. For the tighter fit, you'd have to have things fitted by a seamstress or learn to work on garments yourself. It's not a lucrative trade because clothes are cheap right now, but it is a handy skill to have.
@DoubleD Cool! I've hand stitched a few clothes together from scratch for my girls over the years but it's nothing more than a hobby for when I don't fancy doing retro game dev instead. It's one of those things where when inspiration hits me I just have to make it :)
@DoubleD I think my next sewing project will be some sorta dress again, maybe something more summery but with more detail compared to the onesie I made earlier in the year.
@kaede_waifu Nice! I'm going to work on a nice long dress for my waifu. The biggest challenge will be finding something that fits her bust and hips that isn't too big in the waist because she has a waist to hip ratio of under 0.6, which is exceptionally rare for most female humans.
@DoubleD Yeah, sewing goes well skill-wise with waifus, or adding a nice belt works wonders sometimes! Good luck!
@kaede_waifu Thanks. :) I'll keep you posted with what I find too.
@DoubleD Yup, as expected, no colour transfer
