@lain He also didn't have glass in his window, the internal combustion engine, or modern medicine.

I get that it's a show and this is green text, but if someone wants to have a conversation about why housing is affordable to most people and why wives don't stay at home with children, we're going to need something more substantial than a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

@DoubleD @lain yea...on one hand it's more complex than that. there are socio-economic factors, and long list of political policy and so on. but then it really is that simple, because had the government had out best interests in mind they would have enacted policy that protected what we had. but they didn't.

@wishgranter14 @lain The government is made up of people who desire what the believe will benefit them most. They will always put their own interests ahead of the interests of the population. It is a question of by what means they have been empowered to do so that dictates the extent of their ability to negatively affect our lives.

@wishgranter14 @lain @DoubleD There's likely no Blacks nor other minorities nor immigrants within the town of Bedrock, and the only nuisance for Fred is Barney Rubble. Even then, they're still good friends. There was gonna be a cartoon, but that was cancelled a while ago. There was also one Asian guy, but he wasn't malicious.

@DoubleD @lain A better example would be Married with Children. Al Bundy had a wife, two kids, and a house in suburban Chicago on a shoe salesman's pay.

@echo @DoubleD @lain The house and the pay that everyone else on the show said was so shitty too.

I'd be all over an Al Bundy house. Ehh, it is located near scenic Chiraq though.
