I often get flak for this model; but it’s always based on emotionalism rather than any sort evidence, or fact-based observation. I readily admit my own dataset is far from ideal; what am I supposed to do, invest my life savings in conducting unbiased surveys or something ? No, it’s guided by intuition. Pareto Distributions are thoroughly appropriate for sensibly modelling relatively unlikely events. One can tell by looking that most sexual relationships these days, end before either partner dies. Therefore, faithfulness is relatively scarce, and true loyalty even scarcer.
