@shortstories it tried to attack him, he had a rifle but only grazed it and then it attacked him. It tried to go for his throat but went for his arm, which gave him a chance.

It is not an issue of bare hands trophy hunting being OK
But self defense being OK
Of course the question is would the leopard have attacked him if he did not shoot it
