@shortstories Slop is wrong. They're basically identical except that they independently simplified the characters. Chinese did a much broader sweep in their simplification, while in Japanese tends to use traditional characters. I frequently look up Japanese characters in a Chinese dictionary without issue, because the dictionary is aware of the traditional characters that were simplified.
