@j I trust a Seagate about as much as I trust a jew.
@j IDK, just about all of the ones I come across in my clients' wkstns are complete shite & need to be replaced. 9/10 they have Raw Read errors, seek errors, and uncorrectable ecc sector errors, and behave erratically or extremely slow when in use.

I just clone them off to a Samsung 2.5" ssd & they're good to go.

Hopefully those super high capacity hdds are made to better specs. 🤷

I just don't trust Seagates anymore. At least with my data.
@DNutzinski what do you use because I don't trust WD with my data?
@j I am trying a WD Black nvme in my main rig this time around (just put it in last month), and for my main data storage drive, I went w/ a 10TB WD Purple. I also back everything up, so I'm not *as* worried.

If I were recommending to a client; Samsung for hdd, and SanDisk (yeah, I know, they're WD, too) for USB/removable.

Kingstons are ok. Don't usually have too many issues w/ them either.

And I stay away from anything generic.
@RegalBeagle @j CERTAIN VERSIONS.... I have the 500GB version, and its a work-horse. Glad I had saw the 2TBs were shit though because I was going to get one.

Incidentally, I'm running my main wkstn OS off of it rn while I wait for MB #2..... (again, long story- I posted all about it several weeks ago).
