@Ricotta Boogs didn't work for the same reason the Republican base doesn't work -- they can't set aside ideological differences to fight the common enemy. Can't agree on who the bad guy is that's causing the most harm.

I heard someone say before, "The Left wins because the Right has principles, but the Left has goals." (Example - Vote blue, no matter who.)
