Even in the most dishonest backhanded sort of ways, they acknowledge the right of revolution and resistance, even if warped beyond all virtue.

Law can and is used to punish speech, to deny the right of communities to ensure their own dignity. Rules are used to justify why your kid has to engage with pedo story hour at school or face having their future ruined. "Sorry Jimbo, but Becky accused you of rape after the college party she was obviously, publicly sexually assaulting your crotch at, so by the rules your college career is now over, get off campus within the hour or we call the cops whose rules will oblige them to arrest you". Law is why so many good virtuous White men and women are languishing in confinement all across their own countries. Law is the tool used to dispossess us from our own fucking birth-right.
Law isn't enough, a nation needs justice, and that isn't found within the letter.
