Having a quality vacuum thermos is not a bad idea for your prep plan. Having a hot beverage (or cold) on a cold day can help boost moral. You can also use it to cook with just by adding boiling water. As an asian I felt I should have known this.

@marlathetourist "Thermos" sells short insulated cups that double as bowls, & comes with a folding spoon. I have several of those inside my packs.
And as TFM mentioned before, uninsulated tall metal cups, attached with a clip. Convert one into a desalinator. Great for making coffee inside, too, if you don't have a pot. But I bought one of these cloth reusable filters for my coffee like Grandpa used. If caffeine is vital for you, I'd say have one of these in a pack with your filtered water jugs.
@RoninGrey I have all the items except the coffee strainer. Good idea as its not filter dependent for making coffee.
