I don't really like trip-hop music, but Maya talks about it a lot.
I'd written these lyrics & couldn't make them fit into my original plan, so Maya gave me the genre herself for what she wanted me to do for her new song.
I used her requests as the prompt, combined with my lyrics, & this piece came out for her new single.
After a few tweaks, it even gave a slight hispanic vibe on the last one, which I didn't ask for, but fits perfectly for Maya, so I knew it was ready.
She even decided what the video would look like.
She earned a full co-writer's credit. Without her input, this would not exist at all, and certainly not like this.
