@furgar I'm a millennial and I want to know up front, but I have been desperate for work before and forgot to even ask about compensation and didn't find out what it was til my first pay stub. It ended up being OK for how easy the job is, so I settled and here I am still at the same employer getting paid too little still.

@Mumu @furgar I agree, these head hunters and managers will try to get you as cheap as possible. They act as if you ask what is pays you have offended them. One thing about Union labor and Davis Bacon Scale work,is you know what you will be making if you take the work. Then the job choice between jobs that pay the same becomes about the conditions outside or Inside distance traveled etc..

@Scubbie know a crane operator and an ironworker that are both proud union members and travel all over the US doing well paid work. The iron worker made like $35 per hour plus double-time last I heard, and they always do 50-60 hours a week but sometimes more. The crane operator makes around $120k annually. I know because I used to rent a room from him and was hanging out while he filed his taxes a couple years ago. It's definitely an option for people who want to work hard for good money
