@mangeurdenuage Why can't you say no to your family? Are you financially dependent on them or something?
@mangeurdenuage Well the housing bubble is due to pop pretty soon, so get pre-approved for a loan, wait for the crash, and pounce.
@mangeurdenuage well then I guess you're your family's bitch then.

change your gender to female, and you'll get multiple interviews in the same week.

Mind sharing what kind of freelancing you do?
@mangeurdenuage @Tfmonkey @antichrist_hater
Have you tried programming? It's fun, pays well and can be done as a freelancer

I don't know your personal situation, so can't comment really.
Perhaps you need to leave, perhaps you just need to set boundaries and learn to say no.
@mangeurdenuage @jcbrand @antichrist_hater At the end of the day, if you're financially dependent on your parents, then you have to do what they say, especially if you're a legal adult and they can kick you out at any time if they so choose.
The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.
@mangeurdenuage @jcbrand @antichrist_hater if you're so thrifty and hard working, why do you live with your parents in the first place?
Get a van and convert it into a camper and live in that as you save up for something else, or be a nomad or something.
If you're bringing in no income, then you need to put your "life work/career" on hold. Your dreams aren't paying the bills, so maybe do those on the side while you actually earn some money.
You've been fed too much self esteem bullshit.
@mangeurdenuage @jcbrand @antichrist_hater You should have never gone into debt and given the money to someone else. If you don't have the money to help, then you don't have the money to help. You don't go into debt because someone else needs the money.
If your parents are giving you hell after you gave them $15K then your parents are assholes.
Your talk of "life work" sounded like you were some NEET living at home with your parents chasing your "dreams" and complaining about it to me earlier.
@antichrist_hater @Tfmonkey @mangeurdenuage
I don't know. I'm quite pro family but also know some family members can be toxic and that leaving and making a success can prove to them that you can take care of yourself and don't need to put up with their shit.
But I believe there are also other ways, like standing up for yourself and learning to say no.
@antichrist_hater @Tfmonkey @mangeurdenuage
My own situation... I left long ago, and now miss my family
> Why can't you say no to your family?
Because I'm an idiot.
>Are you financially dependent on them or something?
For housing yes, otherwise no.
