this is also why I think things happened the way they did - I think the US did some unspeakable things in WW2, and saying "we did it to save the jews" was a convenient way to get out of talking about it.

@sickburnbro we did the same thing in the Civil War. Sherman's March including the burning of towns and the rape and murder of women and children.
... but we freed the slaves, so it's okay.
