@YoMomz Listen to your conscience and ypur intuition and juat try to establish a relationship with God if you can as previoisly discussed. A lot of religious people mean well but end up listening more to dead words on paper than really being one with God. They're right that there's something important to renouncing immediate gratification of base desires, just like eating candy is unhealthy and masturbating 6x a day weakens a man's constitution. Common sense!

@nomebullyyou - I have a devout Catholic grandmother, who didn't give me too hard a time about leaving Christianity, but was visibly disappointed.

The way I explained it to her, was that I would let no man stand between me and God - not even a priest.

She's a sweet old lady, so I didn't want to insult her and left this part out: I wouldn't let a Messiah stand between me and God either.

God can judge me for that, and I'll submit to his judgement. So I just strive to serve well until then. 🥃

@YoMomz It's very reasonable to distrust people who talk about God. We are in a very strange time in history. That's why I think it's best to just develop that internal rapport and some kind of prayer habit. And then just remember to thine own self be true. You know right from wrong and you also know when you're giving in to impulses that will probably result in an unrewarding cycle of experiences, etc etc etc. I followed my own breadcrumbs to traditional Catholicism but I'm still a mystic. ⚕️
