@shortstories Is it possible to get sugar from corn without modern industrial methods?
Corn meal which as far as I know is ground corn has 0.8 grams of sugar out of 122 grams of cornmeal

So after you remove the corn seeds from the husk you should be able to get about 1 pound of sugar out of more than 100 but ltess than 200 pounds of corn if you could separate it into different components without altering it's chemistry
But if you want to get more sugar maybe they can break down the starch into sugar
Matbe cooking might break down the starch

I doubt that if they corn syrup made from organic corn it would pose any threat if people actually exercised properly based on when they consumed sugar and how much they consumed in fact I would suggest it would probably build endurance and make people healthier other than dental issues from sugar
