I think platforms in general were a mistake.

Humans are tribal people and socila media has shown that people are better off not being bombarded with strangers opinions all day.

Think protocols > platforms.

Ex. Email, RSS, forums > FB, IG, twitter

The only way to make sure noone abuses power is to decentralize it.
