On the 20th of September 1911 HMS Hawke and RMS Olympic collided, causing the bow of the Hawke to be crushed and 2 of Olympic's watertight compartments to be flooded. Ironically, this accident delayed Titanic's maiden voyage and "proved" how safe the Olympic class ocean liners were.
