@KeepTakingTheSoma @freepatriot problem is, you don't have a choice. The candidates are selected.
@Sherri_Ingrey @freepatriot And herein lies the problem. I know so many people who don't like any candidate on the ballot, but still vote for the lesser of the evils on the paper.
This is why I want *none of the above* on the paper, so if it gets the most votes then the parties have to field better candidates.
@KeepTakingTheSoma @Sherri_Ingrey @freepatriot I really like that idea. A vote of no confidence. Most of Congress would be tossed out in one election cycle.
@DC5FAN @freepatriot @Sherri_Ingrey I doubt we'll get rid of political parties any time soon, but it would force them to up their game.
I look at some of the idiots who regularly get re-elected to Westminster and wonder if the electorate really think they're good or just vote on party lines.
@KeepTakingTheSoma @freepatriot @Sherri_Ingrey Unfortunately, the kind of people that want to be politicians probably arent well suited to do a good job.
@KeepTakingTheSoma @Sherri_Ingrey @freepatriot Ranked choice voting does help with that. More candidates, more diversity in candidates (not all wealthy and white), and "lesser of two evils" voting is a lot less likely. Saves money and headache by avoiding a primary also.
