@thefinn @freepatriot That's why the philosophers of antiquity considered democracy to be the worst form of government. Most people are too selfish and stupid to deserve a hand at governance.

@Obfuskation @freepatriot When I see people talk too, I always get reminded that most are not voting for what's good for the nation, but who will do something for them personally.

I was reminded of that in a video I saw recently, where some dude voted Trump and his mother was freaking out. And she goes "How did you think that idiot would do something for someone like you?"

It's simply no way to run a nation.

@thefinn @freepatriot The worst part is that the rubes can't tell the difference between policy and marketing. In politics its fairly easy to follow the money, and see how policy and donations are linked.

Despite that, everybody believes what comes out of politician's mouths, and what they see on big media. Anybody who believes a word from either of those sources needs a drool bib, and a permanent seat at the kid's table.

Watched this film "Mardi Gras_Made in China" and they had this girl working a factory in China, probably for life, so her brother could have a better life. I really never seen that kind of sacrifice in the USA in my lifetime.
Not a great believer in the ether, but USA does not seem to have a soul that I can identify.
