I just read the excellent book "The Underground Economy: Why Legalization is the Answer" by Andy Reven and realized that
freedom is essential because it allows individuals to express themselves, pursue their own happiness, and live according to their values. Tyranny, on the other hand, stifles creativity, restricts personal rights, and concentrates power in the hands of a few, leading to oppression.
@zeke @freepatriot Yup, we saw first hand what happens when you allow people to just fucking buy opiates with little to no oversight, and thanks to that, millions addicted or dead.
I've known people that got strung out. Some of them are no longer among the living. Good people too. They were all young and naive and didn't think it could happen to them, but it did. The death and destruction toll is already sky high. It would only get worse with legalization.
