I’m an attentive sort, so I can say with a high level of certainty that you could poll every 24 yo in the country and be surprised that the men are more likely want this as a 1st or 2nd place goal, while it’s likely still a far off “yeah like, someday” for girls their same age
For the people who are hopeless about it, I believe you can still find something very powerful in comradery.
@Niloy005 But that just bears out what I’m saying. Guys want it in a real, actual way. For the girls, it’s this far-off, hazy prospect that they don’t really care about all that much. They treat family building like it’s this eventuality that will come for them no matter what, that’s why they’re so lackadaisical about pursuing it
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Niloy005 I would argue that it is because of their assumption that it will just happen that they take it for granted. If they realized much sooner (in their 20s) that they could very well be sabotaging their chances by squandering their time and not seeking a husband as soon as possible, they might not be so absent minded about it.
In a way, the lack of prioritization shows that they do not want a family as badly as they claim. They would not delay things if they did.
But man, you know, we all want challenges, and if getting a boy to like you is essentially an unconscious process for you, why would you be invested, and if getting a girl to love you is a monumental task, then they're just gonna be more invested.
