@sickburnbro My recollection on these sort of police stations are to monitor other Chinese people living abroad so that leaving China does not allow you to be out of reach from the CCP. I don't know if there is policing of others happening, but the main function is to monitor other Chinese.

@houseoftolstoy @sickburnbro Right. There’s a fine line between policing and intelligence. The foreign offices are not police in the strictest terms i.e. they don’t have actual police jurisdiction. But they act as intelligence for the state police and can intimidate their folks on those counties by threatening their assets and families back home.
