@ForbiddenDreamer @Shadowman311 while you correctly understand who gets welfare in red states, the people talking about "Red states receiving more than they pay in" assume that their contrived metrics provides the actual issues of "depencency" by the states. While I despise farm subsidies, a lot of the "dependency" is in this form, and taking this money away would likely cause a spike in food prices. Guess who would suffer harder from that? Not the Republican voting whites these leftists hate.
@ForbiddenDreamer @Shadowman311 Besides, individual states don't pay taxes, the people living in them do. And there are a number of factors from state to state that affect this metric. I mentioned farm subsidies, but also places with more federal government agencies (or more per capita), military bases, Native American reservations, and any other federal spending that would be marked as going "to the state."
@ForbiddenDreamer @Shadowman311 a better test of dependency is to see who cracks first from pressure when all spending is taken away. While everyone would take a hit in some way, those who are most dependent would suffer hardest. I am willing to bet most leftists would not be in favor of seeing this challenge through, since it would expose the "muh dependent red states" as the farce it is.
