My answer is that it's really one thing: Statism - which has brought us such 'wonderful' things as Democracy, AGW & Covidianism. Of course most Islamic nations are also States, so again statism. If ALL religious movements would simply remain as voluntary structures allowing people to come & go as they please, we wouldn't be in this mess.
