There are No expectations. The fate of the world does Not depend on you and No One will think ill of you for not passing on your genes or establishing a legacy. What is really hard is having a mix of traits. i.e. high intelligence but non competitive looks; to win females.
Men like that are tortured with self-doubt and "hope". At least the reject is free from the agony of "hope".
