Actually it mostly explains the seasons
The sun is farther north on average during the northern hemisphere summer and farther south on average during the northern hemisphere winter
It works with either the North or South Pole in the center
It can not explain 24 hour sunlight in both the north and south pole but only in whichever one is in the center with a one sun model
