I always kinda miss Christmas throughout the year, but I've never missed as much as I do this year :pusheen_sad:
Idk what's going on :broken:

Perhaps I need more Jesus. Haven't been to church in years now. Time to return?
@PeachySummer @Grumblesock i at least read the bible once a day as often as i remember to do it, a chapter or two.
I'm always paranoid about joining a church. The church I grew up in took advantage of my family. Guilt tripped my dad into having our family do all of their behind the scenes stuff. At one point, my sisters and I hadn't attended a Sunday service in a whole year because we were running the children's ministry Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
I was in the Youth Group leadership, praise band, taught children's church and ran the rec center. AoG.
@feralphilosophernc @PeachySummer @Grumblesock sometimes churches can be too eager to get people into ministry, my church always needed people but they had to be a part of the churhc for a long time and volenteer on their own.
@givenup @feralphilosophernc @PeachySummer @Grumblesock church I grew up in now requires a full background check and you have to go through child-molestation training (how not to do it) because of some lawsuit brought against the entire denomination.

the church should have just left the denomination at that point, as it's getting close to allowing trannies in, it already has had ordained women for a long time

They already rejected the Bible to follow feminism when they forbid a man from marrying multiple women

After that it was only a slippery slope to drag queen story hour in Churches

@shortstories the local church is mostly made up of good people that love Jesus, but are much too tolerant in the name of love

@spiral_power

"the local church is mostly made up of good people that love Jesus, but are much too tolerant in the name of love"

Wrong

It is mostly made of people that blindly follow other people instead of doing the loving thing and living by moral principles

Churches like all other religious instiuitions that the governments have not eliminated are full of the blind following the blind

If they were not then the government would have shut them down when it comes to any large Church

@shortstories so, let's say you're correct.

It's a small church (200 maybe) in a small town <7,000, and is dominated by a few families.

what would be a good course of action for someone like me, to try and right the local body? or would it be better to abandon it and start something new?
