i dont get why mastodon has to open reply window on popup and then authenticate just to actually reply to someone. the UX suck

That does not happen to me with Merovingian dot club unless I open in a new window or open in a new tab or hit the back button
If I am logged in and just hit reply to a comment it works normally
And by back button I do not mean the one provided be merovingian dot club but the back button provided by the browser
As long as I do not open a new window or hit the back button and I am already logged in I do not have to authenticate again
