My job search has been excruciatingly slow since early Summer. I'm staying updated on my skills with only certifications but I don't want the long search to become detrimental.

I'll open accounts and try staying active with freelance works through Upwork and Fiverr. A computer science degree is in no way a guarantee to a steady career.

@Wopu

So technical colleges are much cheaper per credit than Universities

Maybe electrician then if you complete that go to a University and complete an electrical engineering degree

Maybe the electrician credits will not transfe to electrical engineering but Electrical Engineering and Electrician skills over lap

Electrical engineering has a lot of overlap with computer science compared with the other engineering fields in some Universities in terms of credit

This open more types of jobs

@Wopu

Also it is very easy to get a personal training certificate. You study for a test pay money and pass the test. This quickly would offer alternative types of jobs to apply for although not in your field

Having ability to work in multiple fields gives more places you can apply for jobs for

Some physical labor jobs that do not require a college degree pay more than college degree jobs

Years ago if you worked for FedEx UPS or Amazon it payed more per hour than some college degree jobs but the problem might have been getting full time work instead of only part time work outside the holiday season

They tend to increase work hours a lot as things approach Christmas

This is compared to payed internships or entry level jobs that require a college degree but no experience
