So I signed up for three months of classes in advance at a martial arts studio because it was the only one that taught a specific martial art I wanted to learn
I requested for permission not to bow to any object such as a shrine & only to bow to human beings
He gave me a sheet after I signed up and it mentioned saluting country flags
I do not know what to do if he says that saluting a flag is not bowing nor a religious ritual
I want to be legally prepared but not a jerk
There was a verbal agreement but no written agreement about getting an exemption to bowing to a object
He said bowing to a picture of him is not religious and he is not saying he is a god
And he has rules like no talking in the martial arts studio except to ask questions about how to do techniques
He really does not like talking so I did not want to get in a long conversation about everything and I got the paper about saluting the flags after I payed up but not before
Should I have something written in writing about explicit agreement not to salute the flags of governments before the first day of class or is that not legally necessary if I want a refund if he requires saluting the American flag and the flag of his country
1
It is not a Nazi flag but a American Flag. And Anerica has a history of supporting Israel, so saluting an American flag is kind of like saluting an Israeli flag in a sense.
2
Would he be able to tell the difference between a Nazi Salute to an American flag and some other sort of Salute?
@ForbiddenDreamer @Humpleupagus @Xenophon
"Just salute an israeli flag then?"
I can not choose the type of flag I salute he put up the flags it is an Anerican Flag and a Korean Flag
There is no Nazi Flag and No Israeli Flag
I would not want to salute any flag because it implies blind faith obedience to whatever the authority Figure says
No matter how great they are in their suggestions most of the time I would not want to agree to obey some government authority 100% of the time
@ForbiddenDreamer @Humpleupagus @Xenophon
Ok so this is bizarre he teaches TaeKwanDoe and HapKiDo
I can learn TaeKwanDo anywhere but I signed up specifically because of the HapKiDo
Now his instructions on paper say to
"Salute to Flag"
And
"Bow to student highest in rank"
But when I look online it says in TaeKwanDo that they bow to the flag
Also in pledge of allegiance people put their hands over their hearts
So now I am wondering if it will end up looking like Nazi Salutes or bowing?
