I'm guessing they don't want to engage with the obvious fact that race influences physical appearance too (e.g. head shape, hair, facial features) because they know it's one step away from concluding that it probably shapes the brain too. calling it just skin color is a defense mechanism.

i remember first reading a big race realism article when i was 19 and i was like "yeah that tracks" but i had this uneasy feeling like "what do i do with this information"
seems some people shut down completely and/or lash out but at that time I wasn't a stranger to being an outsider with controversial views because I was a conservative trump supporter at a libtarded college full of browns, immigrants, and fags.
