So I was thinking what if some but not necessarily all of the people who support minimum wage are doing so not to help the poor among the working class but to intentionally make things worse for the poor among the working class

absolutely; they do feel bad when they see people in poverty, but they have no intention whatsoever to help them, they just want the bad feeling to go away
