Where does the idea that people need to call each other by the correct gender pronoun start from

The Hebrew language only has two genders, objects that were never even ever alive must be called either male or female in Hebrew

But it gets worse not only does Hebrew language have gender for nouns but even the verbs in the Hebrew language have gender

The old testament forbids a man dressing in clothing to look like a woman

I would suggest it forbid that because it was common in the middle east
