We simply need to prosecute immigrants who committed crimes just like we prosecute people who are not immigrants this would be a more effective solution than deportation
Deportation without prison time provides no reason not to try to come back
Knowing they will go to prison if caught committing fraud or violence provides a much larger incentive not to come to the country to commit fraud and violence
