It came from Eastern Europe

Aliens invade a village in Eastern Europe & enslave people in underground locations where they make them mine material and produce goods for sale with that material. They impersonate the appearance & language of the slaves so no one knows they are gone.

They then trade the goods made with slave labour for food with a next door village which they later replace & repeat the process

The aliens travel to Brooklyn
