I was in Dunkin’ Donuts just now, placing my order. Young girl at the register tells me “12.90”, so I hand her a twenty and three ones (troublemaker, I know). She took the money, sat there counting (her mouth was moving) for a few seconds, then tried to hand back the ones and said “it’s 12.90.”

Was I just asking far too much?

@Scrawly yes you where. Just so you know the American education system is so bad specially in big cities, the average high school graduate reads at a 6th grade level and barely know how to do basic math like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.... That is the average.
