@amerika in other words, institute capitalism, when banks fail let them fail fuck that to big to fail bullshit they will be bought up by smaller better banks.

@37712

Part of capitalism is letting businesses fail, even monopolies.

We tend to try to steer away from it because it is disruptive, but sometimes we need a little conflict and chaos to get to where we need to be.

@amerika @37712 hence why the assertion that america is the epitome of unrestrained capitalism is absurd. government is constantly bailing businesses out of poor decisions.

@locus @37712

Not to mention all the regulations, taxes, and market distortions like rent control and affirmative action.

The USSA is half-commie already.

@amerika @37712 even those are indirect ways of subsidizing big business. the small guys trying to get by on their own don't have the money for the lawyers to skirt around the maze of regs and taxes.

whatś more is that this stuff was already happening all the way back in the Civil War era, just not the extent of today. So it's arguable that america ever was a capitalist paradise. If we were, it was probably only for 10 minutes.

@locus @37712

This is true. Of course, the political machines go back to the early 1800s...

The Wild West was as close as we got and even they needed sheriffs and the cavalry.

Every government regulation, law, and tax raises the cost of business, and this rewards the big guys while punishing the small.

"Evil" corporations are mostly a government creation.
