also I don't think it's true that they'll celebrate. Mike Lee seems pretty uncomfortable getting called out (he's ducking press) and was weasily and squirmy when Smith confronted him, not defiant. 1

Senators have to work with each other. and senators on both sides of the aisle have some incentives to avoid encouraging political violence against senators.
