Each system, like all systems, have their pros and cons. This particular one has me torn. From a maths standpoint metric wins. From a real world standpoint imperial wins.
Ther is no right or wrong, only thinking makes it so.

But it would've had the same problems as switching to metric. Confusion and cost. The French created metric specifically to run the new system under a different name and avoid confusion. It's like when a country adopt a new currency after a hyper inflation correction. @Chimi_Chuang_Tzu @SilentSeeker we could have had the best of both worlds by taking the yard, making it base-10 (centi-yards, miliyards, kiloyards) and adding it to the imperial system.
