@justnormalkorean Please elaborate. I think I understand, but I can't be sure.

@Escoffier @justnormalkorean @DoubleD My hometown Baptist church had a dispensationalist sweep for a while there, and a bunch of them were all gaga for “Israel”. But it looks like the Reformeds eventually edged them out after I left. The pastor there is one of the finest human beings I’ve ever met.
@KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean @DoubleD Its honestly astounding how the wildly unBiblical and wildly not what Christians of all stripes have ever believed crap that is dispensationalism swept like wildfire through most of evengelicalism.
@Escoffier @KingOfWhiteAmerica @DoubleD I basically told them niggers aren't people and the called me a retard so we're gonna leave it at that I guess lol
@justnormalkorean @Escoffier @KingOfWhiteAmerica @DoubleD niggers aren't people so why should it be, that they and i should live inside the same country.
@Escoffier @justnormalkorean @DoubleD I don’t know many details - but it was absolutely their staunch adherence to Biblical principles that won the day. The pastor even took one of those trips to “Israel” but they didn’t succeed in buying him out. I figure he might eventually retire and become Orthodox.
@DoubleD @Escoffier @justnormalkorean Before I received Holy Baptism, I went to a Greek Bibly Study. We had the Koine / KJV Interlinear, and half the class could just read both columns. It was eye-opening.
jews are in the Land. That was unimaginable for ~2000 years. Few get to witness that magnitude of prophecy happen before their eyes.

There's not a damn thing you can do about it.

[Amo 9:14-15 KJV] 14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
@bobbala @DoubleD @KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean Except God divorced the Jews Bob. And the Church is Israel now. Every inch of Romans confirms this.
God Opened His Church to everyone else (The Age of Grace), and gives the jew one last chance for Redemption. Either (((they))) believe in Him or they burn in hell. Simple as.
That's what you would do. Grace is not for the good. Grace is for the sinners.
@bobbala @UnCL3 @DoubleD @KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean Its for believers Bob which the Jews manifestly are not. You have been bit by the dispensationalist bug m8 might want to see to that.

@bobbala @DoubleD @UnCL3 @KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean Heretics rarely are. And yes dispensationalism is heresy. rank heresy. Your position is one the Church did not hold until Darby cooked this nonsense up in the 1830's ish and some nice Zionist Jews provided all sorts of "help" to promote this heresy to con evangelicals onboard with the Israel project. You got played m8.
Well. Move them then. It's not my problem to save them from you.

[Zec 12:2 KJV] 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem.
@UnCL3 @Escoffier @DoubleD @bobbala @justnormalkorean It’s really the only thing that makes any sense. Dispensationalism represents generations unable to endure sound doctrine, choosing teachers to tickle their ears.
@KingOfWhiteAmerica @UnCL3 @Escoffier @DoubleD @bobbala @justnormalkorean what is the dispensationalism, and why is it one of five words that correctly swipe on my android keyboard?
@JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @UnCL3 @DoubleD @bobbala @justnormalkorean Very short answer the notion that there is an alternative path of salvation to Jews. This is easily rebutted by noting the Bible says there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved.
@Aly @Escoffier @JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @UnCL3 @DoubleD @bobbala There were giants on the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
I know it's science fiction, but I always thought that Prometheus movie had some pretty cool lore how mankind was created by those giant epic White nephilim guys.
@grizzlywhisker @DoubleD @UnCL3 @bobbala @Aly @Escoffier @JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @NoDoxGregBrady @justnormalkorean Yes, should be 3 or 4 hours because they rushed and fucked up the climax moment to show more marry sues in action.
Yeah I really didn't like the direction they went with the sequel (Covenant) either, they didn't explore any of the new lore regarding the Engineer "Space Jockey" guys who were in Prometheus. It looks like the new Alien movie has nothing to do with this storyline either and they're just going back to "Xenomorph slaughters space humans" again except with a shitty woke diversity cast...
LOL I know right? I was re-watching it not too long ago and I was like OH FUCK I FORGOT JUICY SMULLET IS IN THIS! Haha.
Didn't he drink the forbidden cocktail sauce and explode or something
Yeah I'm pretty sure the idea was that he sacrifices himself to seed life on earth which ended up being humans. Then the Engineers seemed to think humanity had become malevolent or something so they were going to use that Xenomorph black mutagen bioweapon to erase mankind and start over, but they lost control of the bioweapon on the planet found by the Prometheus crew. It wasn't really explained but that's kind of what I got from it.
I saw it once around the time it came out. Barely remember it but would watch again. I remember it being pretty entertaining.
Yeah I would say watch it again, it's a pretty cool science fiction movie. Idk why so many "Alien fans" hate it because it's got a lot of really cool ideas in it.
@grizzlywhisker @NoDoxGregBrady @DoubleD @UnCL3 @bobbala @Aly @Escoffier @JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean I wish they would have explained a few things better. Like why were they so hellbent on killing humans? I think you can fill in the blanks pretty well using Greek/Roman mythology as a template, but I was still hoping Alien Covenant would explain that further. Instead, it pivoted to a sort of serial killer angle where David decides (also with way too little explanation imho) to start genociding everyone because… we’re a dying species and he finds everything repulsive?

Anyway, both were actually not bad movies I just wish they did a better job going over the characters‘ motivations. I felt like for such consequential plot points the reasons they gave were kind of weak.
Yeah it was like a mad scientist movie lol. I think David's creator (Weyland) had a God complex after he created artificial life, and he sort of imprinted that on David since David considered him his father... I remember in Prometheus the crew kept telling David he's "not a real boy" and that "humanity made androids simply because they could" and he mentions how disappointing it would be for a human to be told that same thing when meeting their maker... So I guess that kind of thing in addition to him being treated as a slave who's only purpose is to serve humans made him hate humanity. I guess it was kind of poetic how the Engineers created human life, then humans created artificial life, and the artificial life destroys the Engineers... But they could have done something much better with the story. 🤷‍♂️
@grizzlywhisker @DoubleD @UnCL3 @bobbala @Aly @Escoffier @JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @NoDoxGregBrady @justnormalkorean Yeah same. It was a super solid foundation and I still liked both movies (covenant a bit less), but I rewatched them thinking I’d glean little bits of stuff I missed to find the motivations I was looking for, but I really didn’t find it. Like you said, it was little quips in front of David by the humans and things like that, which I just think weren’t as impactful of triggers for the characters as maybe Scott or whoever wrote those scenes thought.

There’s a philosopher Jason Jorjani who basically touts the theory Prometheus was getting at as his actual beliefs of how humanity started, and how mythologies were getting at literal versions of the Engineers/nephilim. I felt like watching Prometheus was like watching a worse explained version of Jorjani’s philosophy/worldview. Although I do appreciate that Scott made those movies, they really are pretty cutting edge in terms of the “engineers created us” plot line.
Yeah I really wanted to learn more about the Engineers and their motivations in the sequels but I don’t think we’re ever getting those movies after seeing the trailer for the new Alien movie.
I never said that.

How was Lot saved. He didn't know Jesus.
Abraham, Moses, Solomon, Joshua ...

Are they damned?
@bobbala @DoubleD @UnCL3 @JollyWizard @KingOfWhiteAmerica @justnormalkorean Good gravy man. No they were under the old covenant and offered animal sacrifices. This may come as a surprise to you but Jesus was the final sacrifice offered. Do keep up old chap.
They trusted God. The old testament sacrifices, every one of them were looking forward to Jesus Christ.

[Jhn 3:14 KJV] 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
When old testament jews looked to the serpent on the pole, they were looking to Jesus even though they didn't know His Name.

Today. They still don't know that Name. They look for God to save them. They will see Him.

It's just not time yet.
How about all the jews that died between the resurrection and now without knowing Christ?
When Adam & Eve took that bite, nobody knew how God would save them. They just knew He would. He said He would. Bank it!

I don't know how He saves them. What is "... pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications ..."? I don't know. He will. He said. He would.

[Zec 12:10 KJV] 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
Romans 2:5-9

5 But according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou treasurest up to thyself wrath, against the day of wrath, and revelation of the just judgment of God.
6 Who will render to every man according to his works.
7 To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:
8 But to them that are contentious, and who obey not the truth, but give credit to iniquity, wrath and indignation.
9 Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the jew first, and also of the Greek.
We're all saved, jew and Gentile by His Grace. Our salvation is not a reward for good works.

There are still rewards to be won and lost for your works. They have nothing to add or take away from His Finished Work at Calvary. The sole remedy for sin is Lamb's Blood.

[1Co 3:8-15 KJV] 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, [ye are] God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

If they do NOT acknowledge the Divinity of the Holy Trinity on judgement day (for all of us), then yes they are relegated to hell.

*shrugs*
Good thing they're not dependent on your vote!

I don't get any say either. God is the Savior.

[Isa 63:7-8 KJV] 7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, [and] the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
8 For he said, Surely they [are] my people, children [that] will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
Look to the story , in the old Testament, where the rich man dies and goes to Hades. He cry's across the chasm to Father Abraham to touch his lips with water. It says Father Abraham was in paradise. This was before Christs time. Not damned put aside until Christ came. This is my best guess on the word.
I agree. At His death, Jesus descended into Hell to break them out. Totelesti.
