interesting thing is that people mention the male to female ratio in china due to one child policy from the past skewing the demographic. in normal human society, the ratio is 51:49 in favour of women. in china, it is reversed. so it's nothing wild or out of whack, really.

@Justicar It is interesting that it's still roughly 50/50, but at the same time, given the population size and the the fact that the policy itself officially ended only 9 years ago (being replaced by the older "two child policy"), it's not surprising that the shift would be under 8 percent. In 2007, only 40% of people in China were directly affected by the one child policy due to various exceptions. The population of any human community, barring extremely strict enforcement will tend to 50/50.
