i think the famous midlife crisis is just a natural period in a man's life where he naturally discovers and accepts the red pill whilst also coming to a conclusion that it is too late to do something about it and his life is now mostly gone.

@Justicar If you have never read Levinson's "The Seasons of a Man's Life" it is worth a read to discuss this topic more widely.
Your point is close, in my opinion, to the truth in that he realizes that he has used the majority of his strength, and he understands that anything he wishes to experience now, he must do so before he is incapable of doing so. The redpill may or may not be involved.
