I had a conversation with someone in a business context today, and I wanted to compliment her on her diction and supportive tone because many customer service reps are irritable or unhelpful, but I didn't because there is always a chance that she could get a crazy idea that I was hitting on her and that it was "verbal assault" or some other such nonsense.

It irritates me that I cannot express my genuine appreciation for virtue where I see it because of the Big Lie.
