@Escoffier @Appelmoesje @BasedLunatic Drinking beer at any time of the day is historically normal. Most historical ale and beer was significantly less strong than ours is today, but still, it was fairly common. laborers used to drink all the time in the 1700's because they believed it increased their strength.

@DoubleD @Appelmoesje @BasedLunatic Yeah the amount of alcohol consumed by the founding fathers is kind of breathtaking

@BiggusDiccus @BasedLunatic @Appelmoesje @Escoffier We don't know for sure, but likely between 4-10 ABV from the research I've seen.

@DoubleD
That's comparable to today. Even Utah beer is 4%. You'll find some pricy things at about 9-10%, and then stupid expensive one offs will go higher like Sam Adam's utopias I think was about 20%.

@BiggusDiccus @DoubleD @Appelmoesje @BasedLunatic Somebody brought Foster's to band practice back in the 80's. I forget how much higher the alcohol content is but I can tell you I nearly tore an ear off with my drumsticks
