i can see women being useful on a farm. but in a city.. useless, pointless, waste of resources.
@DoubleD yeah. but they can also do gardening, help out during harvest and other things. just because they are not on par with men does not mean there is no work they can perform that is net positive. my main point is city vs homestead life.

I was considering the utility of female labor in contrast to male labor yesterday as well. Historically, females in non-elite classes took the division of labor that males left to them by virtue of their constitution being lesser than that of their male counterparts. Wives and daughters were nurses, bookkeepers, cooks, maids not because the males were doing the jobs they couldn't.
