It was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of approximately six million Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators. In addition to Jews, millions of others, including Roma, disabled individuals, Polish and Soviet civilians, political dissidents, LGBTQ+ people, and others, were also targeted and killed. The Holocaust is one of the most well-documented genocides in history.
