@Justicar this logic is flawed. If there’s no innovation or technological advancement there’s no new jobs at all.
Oh and the reason we don’t have better quality of life is because the government is underfunding scientific R&D. I’ll give you a few examples that came out recently that no one is talking about and are underfunded:
- plastic-eating bacteria
- oil-secreting algae
- induced pluripotent stem cells
- reversing cancer
- artificial cartilage
- anthrobots
- cows that produce insulin milk
@Mr_Mister i disagree. in essence, manual labour is replaced by machinery, which means people need to work in services, of which there are countless types. but it still means the market will get more and more saturated over time. there is limited amount of lawyers, secretaries, managers, programmers, scientists..that the society needs. if we remove manual labour jobs, huge part of the population will become unemployable. not everyone is in 100+ IQ group, nor wants to sit all day behind a PC
