so am into the republic of plato, and am just here, in the middle of few old men, having a conversation, and am like, WHAT?

why most we go into deep thought, into pointless topics? should an honest man be treated like shit, should a dishonest man be treated good?

i know there has to be a deeper meaning to it but, why?
