I finally listened to my superchat on Saturday's show.
I think the problem with "boring" characters like the Autobots is when they aren't written well. It's not a good sign that people think darkness and villainy is awesome or just misunderstood.
We can all relate to that, for sure. (But my favorite villain is Negaduck, with no redeeming qualities. Just go all-out!)
Writers don't know how to connect emotionally, which is why they often can't write a good freaking SUPERMAN.

And I think Cyclops works well in the team dynamic. That's why he's interesting. When written well, he doesn't know how to deal with the rest of the team's retardation.
