It's very obvious that there is some kind of pressure campaign to remove Biden, but there's a couple of problems.

1) The obvious successor Kamala Harris has worse numbers than Biden
2) Replacing Kamala with somebody else who wasn't even running also damages everything because if you force Biden to resign, then Kamala is the incumbent

I don't see a 4D chess move, this is just the result of the growing competency crisis.
